Studco interior drywall steel stud and track can now be found under the CrocStud® name. CrocStud products are manufactured locally, in Webster, New York, with premium-quality, 33 KSI steel. To ensure long-term durability and corrosion resistance, a minimum G40 galvanized coating is used on all CrocStud products (50 KSI steel and G60 coating remain available on request).
CrocStud wall stud and track products are tested and proven to perform in accordance with EQ acceptance criteria, taking the stress and confusion out of sourcing the right product to match your project’s specifications. Studco’s CrocStud drywall steel framing systems can be used in a variety of applications, including commercial and residential projects. CrocStud® Drywall Stud
CrocStud Steel Studs are vertical members that form the wall framework and support the drywall. CrocStud™ studs are manufactured from cold-formed galvanized steel, not cold reduced, to ensure consistent durability.
Alongside a a wide range of web widths and design thicknesses, custom sizes and lengths are available. All CrocStud interior wall studs are rolled in America using premium quality steel.

CrocStud® Drywall Track
CrocStud Drywall Tracks are the foundational horizontal components of interior partition walls. Fixed securely at the floor and ceiling, these tracks create the anchor points for vertical studs, ensuring precise alignment and structural integrity throughout the wall assembly. Galvanized coatings offer corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term durability in interior framing applications across commercial, institutional, and residential projects.
CrocStud® Deflection Track
CrocStud Deflection Track is engineered specifically for walls that require vertical deflection from the ceiling, making it critical in multi-story commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions where structural movement is anticipated. These specialized tracks accommodate building dynamics caused by live loads, structural settlement, thermal expansion and contraction, or seismic activity that would otherwise compromise wall integrity.
CrocStud Deflection Track features extended 2″ legs that allow studs to slide vertically within the track channel while maintaining lateral support. This design prevents load transfer to non-load-bearing partition walls, protecting finishes from cracking and ensuring long-term performance even as the building moves.
RapidTrack® Slotted Deflection Track
Studco’s drywall steel framing range also includes RapidTrack Slotted Deflection Track, ideal for projects demanding the highest level of movement control. This advanced system accommodates both vertical and lateral deflection. The innovative design features slots in the web of the track that allow the top of wall studs to “float” within the track legs, effectively absorbing vertical live loads from floor deflection and horizontal drift from wind or seismic forces. This dual-action performance makes RapidTrack suitable for seismic design and ideal for applications in seismic zones, multi-story buildings, and wind-exposed exterior walls where structural movement is a critical design consideration.
Vortex Segmented Rebate Track
The Studco Vortex™ Segmented Rebate Track represents a breakthrough in high-performance framing technology, specifically engineered to address the unique challenges of tall buildings and high-rise construction. As buildings increase in height, they become increasingly susceptible to wind-induced movement, structural sway, and dynamic forces that can cause traditional framing systems to creak, pop, and develop noise transmission issues that compromise occupant comfort.
This patented track profile (U.S. Patent 10,253,498) features a full-length rebated pan that increases the track’s resistance to buckling forces. This allows the profile to maintain straightness and restricts members from following undulating or irregular concrete surfaces that are common in high-rise construction.

Vortex Isolation Clips
Studco Vortex™ Isolation Clips are engineered to eliminate metal-on-metal contact in the internal drywall framing system, mitigating the transmission of structure-borne noise and creaking sounds as buildings move. These specialized clips are designed for different connection points throughout wall assemblies. Manufactured from long-life, hard-wearing polymer material, the clips work seamlessly with the Vortex Segmented Rebate Track and CrocStud studs to create a complete high-performance framing solution that helps to reduce creaking in multi-story construction.
